Jane Halifax (played by Rebecca Gibney) is a freelance forensic psychiatrist (f.p.) a psychological super-sleuth immersed in a mire of crime and punishment. She works hand in hand with both the police and the legal profession and is called upon by the defence or prosecution as an expert witness into the workings of the human mind.
