Actress Mai Zetterling's first film as director is a Bergman-influenced adaptation of a novel by the Swedish author Agnes von Krusenstjerna dealing with motherhood and the role of women in the early 20th Century. Starring Harriet Andersson, Gunnel Lindblom and Gio Petré.
