Kotarou meets the academy witch, Senri Akane, and joins the occult research club. He starts taking part in occult club activities and gathering club members in order to prove that supernatural phenomena exist.

The occult research club finally begins regular activities. For their first investigation, they search for a tsuchinoko.

Kotarou gets the occult club back together one last time to help Kagari finish her theory. Will she make it in time?

Kotarou searches for the elderly gentleman he met to ask him about unidentified mysterious animals.

One day, a letter regarding "Asahi Haruka" arrives at the Occult Research Club, and Kotarou immediately begins an investigation.

Life changes drastically for Kotarou as Esaka invites him to join Guardian.

With Chihaya and Lucia's disagreement resolved, the occult club resumes activities.

Unable to stay in Japan anymore, Kotarou flees to a war zone, where he comes to a standstill yet again. Will he be able to move on?

Five days after losing contact with Inoue, Akane suddenly announces that occult club activities have been suspended.

Kotarou is unable to get in touch with Akane, Chihaya, Lucia, Shizuru, or Kotori after the incident in the forest. It is then that a girl appears before him.

Back in Japan, Kotarou finds himself in Kazamatsuri once again, where he meets quite a few familiar faces.

Kotarou brings Kagari to the city to help her "find herself" after she gets amnesia.

Kotarou reunites with Kotori, and learns her and Kagari's secret. Meanwhile, someone breaks through the barrier and infiltrates Kotori's secret base.

Chihaya heads to Sakuya's location on Akane's orders. While she is wandering through the forest looking for Kotori's secret base, she discovers a certain person who has collapsed.

In order to rewrite Kagari's fate, Kotarou heads toward the final battle.

Kagari begins to act strangely. Elsewhere, Midou shows up with his Earth Dragon and destroys the barrier around where Kotarou's group is staying.

As the song of destruction echoes across the skies, monsters appear and nature runs amok, destroying the world. Meanwhile, the gang rejoices at Kagari's returning to her senses, but that's when Esaka shows up...

Kotarou wakes up in a deserted town, and the only thing he knows is that he must talk to the girl on the hill.

As Kagari's research continues to take its toll on her, Kotarou looks to help her out and realizes the true significance of her theory of life.

The story returns to when Kotarou was a superhuman without a cause, the Earth-Saving Hunter.

Kotarou returns to Kazamatsuri, where Guardian begins a fateful operation that ends in tragedy.

As Kotarou infiltrates deeper into Gaia and learns more about the group, he is forced to make a choice that Kagari may not necessarily approve of.

In order to save Kagari, Kotarou faces off with Gaia and Guardian.
