Always Greener

A dysfunctional city family joins their country relos for Christmas - with touching, hilarious and literally explosive results. Then, a New Year's Eve crisis pushes the two close families towards a drastic decision about their lives.

Predictable - and totally unpredictable - reactions ensue after the suggestion of a city-country house-swap. Trust issues are passionately raised when John decides on a vasectomy, and Liz finally meets Marissa's body-building boyfriend Skid.

Liz's decision to move and her sense of herself is challenged by the humour and chaos of a school reunion, and Pip declares war on puppy-killer Bert Adams. Meanwhile, Marissa's assumptions about her father and his work are turned on their head when Mickey accompanies him on a night on the streets.

A practical joke by Marissa leaves a young suitor in a very compromising position. Sandra's day turns from bad to worse and it appears only Tom will be her saviour. Meanwhile, Kimberley confronts her nemesis.

Marissa's not in the country five minutes before she's managed to put half the town offside. Sandra's hellish day doesn't get any better on her arrival in the city. She's starting to wonder if the swap has been a huge mistake. Plus, Pip realises her new friend could, in fact, be an enemy.

Sandra's search for a job becomes serious as she realises just how much it costs to live in the city. Finding a small marijuana crop in the bush near the house, makes John realise the family haven't left all their problems behind them. Hosting a church barbecue could help integrate the Taylors into the community at last - or ostracise them forever.

It's a day of firsts with both Cam and Pip off to a new school, Sandra accepting a date, and John inviting Skid out to the farm. Meanwhile, Marissa learns to be careful what you wish for and Jason finds his most desired wish may just come true.

Issues of Tom's parentage are raised when Jack goes on a walkabout in search of Pip. In the city, post-suicide attempt, Shelley makes her dark presence heart-wrenchingly felt in the Todd household.

A marketing campaign with a difference elevates Marissa's clothing stall at the Church fete, but the end results are more than she bargained for. An uncharacteristic aggression surfaces when Tom voices his hidden past. Meanwhile, a memorable family finale takes place after Cam and Pip deliberately ignore Sandra's birthday.

Liz and John find themselves in a stalemate over their unborn baby - will they or won't add to the Taylor clan? The Todd family reach a turning point; it's a year since Rob's death. They return to the country to remember him.

Meanwhile, Sandra is having no better luck with her love life than Cam when she struggles with a dream date turned an embarrassing disaster. As the smoke of bushfire hangs over Inverness, John discovers that it's not so easy to escape your past.

Tom discovers the identity of his mother, while Sandra tries to find her Perfect Greg. Jason's mates continue to get him into trouble. John finds a new friend and a new boss in Isabelle, and Liz has a somnolent encounter with the local doctor.

John is forced to reveal a secret from his past after Jason is bought home drunk by the police. When the town of Inverness is hit by a chicken pox epidemic, Liz worries about the health of her unborn baby. Pip and Shelley finally bond and Cam experiences his first real kiss. Meanwhile, Tom cannot get any answers from Isabelle about his past.

Kim's attempt to make a "Family Documentary" reveals more home truths than she anticipates. Jason hides an important secret from his father while Marissa's night on the town gives her plenty to think about. Meanwhile, Sandra yearns for the magic touch.

Kim's party video sparks a nasty chain reaction when Greg discovers Mickey's been lying about finishing his relationship with Shelley. Eileen and Derek Unn reach a crisis-point in their marriage when Eileen uncovers proof positive of his philandering. A surprise visitor brings resolution to John and Jason's stubborn refusal to back down over recent misunderstandings.

Marissa struggles to remember the person she was in the city. Has the country changed her that much? Meanwhile, Kim has been adopted by a teenage duo who delight in bullying others. Sandra is continuing to date Greg until a fiery encounter with Mickey exposes Greg's brutal nature.

John thinks the nightmare of Easter with the parents-in-law has been safely avoided when a surprise visit to Katy forces the issue with Tom and the truth finally comes out. Meanwhile, Marissa's dissatisfaction with life in the country comes to a head.

Isabelle reacts angrily when she discovers Tom has befriended Katy and told her the truth about his parentage. Suspicious that Cam's lying to her about Mickey, Shelley starts to revert to her old self. Pip and Cam are horrified to learn she's tried to kill herself again. Marissa moves back to the city and is disappointed to learn Tom's about to go home to Inverness.

Marissa is depressed over her feelings for Tom. Tom comes and wants to talk to Sandra. Marissa tries to read the letter Isabelle gave him, but Tom says he would prefer Sandra to do it, which makes her more upset, as Tom says he can't read. Meanwhile, Shelley finds a new home and John makes a decision about his future.
