Unintended; Unlocking a Nation's Pregnancy Secrets

In the spring of 1913, five law enforcement officials pile into a car to make the 115-mile trip to the small college town of Hopkinton, Iowa. Their goal: to exhume the body of Myrtle Irish, the daughter of a wealthy couple. They run into resistance as they try to determine whether she died of an abortion, then a criminal surgery.

An actress from Chapter 1 approaches the Unintended director/journalist after a day of filming to share her family's story of an unintended pregnancy. Her mother was born in 1930 in an opulent Kansas City home for unwed mothers. The identity of the birth parents remained a secret for decades, but that would soon change.

Maude Stone's name appears in a court document related to the story in Chapter 1 of Unintended. Maude's boyfriend has to summon Maude's mother as Maude is dying after an attempted abortion. And a young man's "voice" is finally heard.
