Johan goes with the wife of a dead Mafia boss to Latvia to try and solve a mystery that has baffled him for years. What Johan finds in a cabin outside of Riga shocks not only him, but also GSI's new boss Sophie Nordh and the previous boss Patrik.

Falk's colleague from the security business, Pernilla Vasquez, shows up unexpectedly when the Gothenburg Police Special Unit GSI are on an investigation in Stockholm.

GSI follow up on a weapons trail that leads straight to the Kavkaz Mafia's west coast headquarters. GSI member Niklas Saxlid is the group's specialist in under cover police work, and he has worked his way into the Kavkazi business.

An attack inside Gothenburg's police headquarters causes the building to be put into lockdown; no one comes in or out. At almost the same time, a major trial is starting in the adjacent building.

The unknown, large Mafia organization now shows its true face. The pressure that GSI and Johan Falk and his family have placed on the organization, now causes them to strike back, no holds barred.
