Puck and Einar are celebrating midsummer in a secluded island cottage together with a group of friends, when one of the female guests is murdered.

Puck and Einar are invited to a wedding, but the bride-to-be suddenly vanishes without a trace. Everybody around them seem to have something to hide.

Puck and Einar decide to spend some time in Einar’s charming childhood town, but the idyll crumbles when Puck finds a dead body on the lawn.

Puck finds Gabriella’s grandfather poisoned in bed. The relationships between the people living in Rodbergshyttan are anything but uncomplicated.

Puck gets a job as a stenographer for the Nobel winner Hallman. He is a genial man, but the atmosphere in his home is terrifying and ultimately fatal.
