Looking Up at the Half-Moon

Yuuichi, a hospital patient, has gotten into the habit of sneaking out often. When he's caught in the act, the head nurse offers to let him off the hook if he befriends a girl named Rika.

Tada, an elderly patient at the hospital passes away and bequeaths his collection of girlie magazines to Yuuichi. Naturally, Rika is not pleased to find these in Yuuichi's possession.

Yuuichi has managed to patch things up with Rika for the time being, but Dr. Natsume continues to try and drive a wedge between the two young lovers.

Having been confined to hospitals all her life, Rika's never gotten to experience life as a student. Yuuichi provides her with the opportunity to spend a day in his high-school.

Rika's condition has worsened, requiring emergency surgery. Dr. Natsume reveals to Yuuichi that he was once in a similar position as the one Yuuichi faces now.

While Rika's operation was successful, Rika's mother won't allow Yuuichi to see her. Yuuichi will soon have to decide whether to stay with Rika or move on with his life.
