Primos TRUTH About Hunting

It’s the last week of deer season here in Mississippi. Jordan and Troy are the only 2 at Kudzu Bluff, and the bucks are showing signs of the second rut. Scrapes are being reopened and old rubs are being smoothed up as well. Thank the Lord for Savage rifles holding more than 3 shells and for blood trailing dogs with incredible noses on this week’s show. kwhunting

What do you get when you cross a Canuck and Cornhusker? You get Randy Anderson with good friend Morris “Wooley” Kowerchuck for one of the most intense 5 days of Calling Coyotes North of the border. The cold weather has set in, but the coyotes are hot as a firecracker, running into the sounds of the Primos Predator Series of Calls for Randy and Wooley.

It’s opening day in South Florida and the Primos Team has big plans for this week in Osceola country. First, we brought along the new Photoform strutting gobbler that will make a grand entrance on these long-spurred gobblers. Jimmy heads to South Georgia to meet up with NWTF Hunting Heritage and Habitat Specialist Travis Sumner. These two veteran hunters are embarking on a long-running tradition at Hanging Rocks Plantation. Hanging Rocks Plantation proudly hosts the Masters of Spring each year, which invites terminally ill children to hunt with celebrity hunters in the hopes of getting a chance at a South Georgia gobbl

It’s the first spring for the Team Primos gang at our new camp, Kudzu Bluff. And to say we're excited would be an understatement. The Mississippi season starts off with Brad and Lake on some Hard gobbling, ridge top peeping Toms that seem to know the lay of the land much better than we do.

This week at Kudzu Bluff, Troy, Jordan, Lake, and Jimmy all meet up at camp to pick up where Brad left off. And to also hunt a few areas they kind of kept secret from the rest of the gang. If gobblers up close and in your lap get your heart pounding, then this week will not disappoint. Oh, and a midday nap, well it leaves Jimmy singing the blues.

Alabama is known mostly for peanuts, southern hospitality, and college football. It’s also known for its veteran turkey hunters like Bob Walker, Kevin Mathews, and Matt Brunson. Troy, Jordan, and Lake take the first week in April each year to head down to the Yellowhammer state and break the day with their good friends who all have one thing in common, chasing Alabama long beards.

But echoes of a distant choppy gobble gets the team in high gear. Then Brad has a frosted encounter with a gobbler that turns into a 9-hour marathon with a true Mountain Monarch.

After 4 days of hard hunting, its a quick adios to Will and Brad who are headed back to Mississippi.
