In 1847, Victor-Auguste Poulain, a 22-year-old man, started up a small business. Little did he know, it would soon become one of the biggest brands the world of sweets has ever known! On March 8, 1852, Poulain filed a patent for a chocolate recipe that would secure his fortune. In the years to follow, he set up his first factory on the heights of Blois.
