Luis graciously invites the team into his home and then leads them to the majestic Paracas Dunes for some dune driving. The drive from sea-level to 14,000 ft. in a day doesn't sit well for Ryan.

The team then fights through the traffic and chaos of La Paz to make it to the Death Road in Bolivia.

In Oruro, Bolivia the fight for fuel begins. Six gas stations deny selling the team fuel. Later, the team runs into a group of soldiers and exchanges greetings with them. Clay reminds the group that no matter where you go, "People are people."

The team visits an abandoned train cemetery and marvels at the engineering. Climbing higher into the mountains, snow becomes an issue. The journey through the Valle De La Roca is taking longer than expected and fuel begins to run out. The highest elevation point of the trip is reached at 16,545 feet.

The team finds rest, hot showers, and food in San Pedro De Atacama, Chile. They explore the Valley of the Moon before heading south again. Only halfway through South America, the team takes time to reflect on the trip so far; they then fly back to Montana to let the harsh Chile winter pass. Phase three of South America begins in Copiapo, Chile with Steve as a new member of the crew.

During the South America finale, the team takes in the spectacular Mt. Fitz Roy peak and Moreno Glacier (Argentina and Chile). After a few vehicle challenges, the crew reaches the "end of the road," the conclusion of the Pan-American Highway, in Ushuaia, Argentina. A truly celebratory moment! Then, it's back to Buenos Aires to ensure the vehicles are safely shipped back to the U.S.
