One Fateful Night

Sami, 19, a well-behaved student, steals his father's taxi to go out partying. While driving, a young woman, Gloria, bursts into the car. They go to her place, and everything unfolds. Alcohol. Drugs. Sex. Sami collapses. When he regains consciousness, Gloria is next to him, dead. Sami is arrested. It's Jeff, a cop on the verge of retirement, who inherits the case.

Sami, a young inmate, faces the harsh reality of prison life. Meanwhile, Jeff continues his investigation and discovers disturbing truths about Sami: lies about his exams and attraction to violent pornography. These revelations devastate his parents, calling into question their knowledge of their son.

The descent into hell continues for Sami. The lead about the bar dispute hits a dead end. However, it highlights Gloria's complex personality as a heavy drug user, much to her parents' surprise. Isabelle, joined by Leïla, a young idealistic lawyer, continues to move heaven and earth to defend her client. Unfortunately, Sami, caught between despair and fear, gets close to Anis.

Isabelle and Leïla continue searching for other leads to plant doubt in the jurors' minds. But Isabelle becomes discouraged. Maybe Jeff is right. Sami is lost. Despite Leïla's protests, she's on the verge of giving up. Especially since Sami, tattooed, shaved, and muscular, has become a real convict and no longer resembles the well-behaved student he once was.

The trial begins. But Sami has hit rock bottom. High on drugs, tattooed, with a shaved head, he looks like anything but an innocent man. While Isabelle and Leïla manage to win over the jurors on the first day, Sami's appearance on the second day turns into a disaster. All seems lost.

Two days before the end of the trial, Jeff has second thoughts: what if Isabelle was right? What if Sami was innocent? He finally decides to dig into Gloria's past. And what he finds is beyond comprehension.
