Pon no Michi

Nashiko Jippensha, a high school student living in Onomichi, is kicked out by her mother. With nowhere else to go, her father offers her the use of an old mahjong club he once ran, now long abandoned. With the help of her friends, Pai Kawahigashi and Izumi Tokutomi, Nashiko begins renovating the club.

Riche meets up with Nashiko at the mahjong club, just as she promised, and manages to convince her to let her join their group of friends. She also gets to know Pai, Izumi, and Chombo, and around the mahjong table, a new friendship begins to form.

Now that the four friends have gotten the stove working, the next step is toprepare a delicious meal. On the menu, a tasty curry with sashimi and a refreshing water ice for dessert. But before that, they start tidying up the old mahjong club.

Riche shows the other girls a new way to play mahjong: online, against other players. The opponents the three beginners face are strong, and Nashiko seems unable to win. Fortunately, Riche is there to avenge her, focusing on countering the strategy of an opponent who seems to live in Onomichi.

Nashiko and her friends receive a visit from the person they were playing against online, her name is Haneru Emi. She's determined to challenge Riche again to defeat her, but before that, she meets the four girls. And what better way to do that than with a barbecue under the blue sky ?

The mahjong enthusiasts organize an overnight stay at an inn in Onomichi to play mahjong. They also take the opportunity to visit the city's tourist spots that they don't normally get to see. As for Haneru, she's only waiting for one thing, to finally face Riche and get her revenge.

Nashiko and her friends make the most of their summer vacation. To celebrate Pai's birthday on August 1st, they spend the day at the beach. The plan includes cake, gifts, and games. But Pai feels embarrassed by the extravagance of Riche's gift and can't accept it. The only solution to satisfy everyone is to make her win it as a reward in a series of games.

The city of Onomichi is getting ready to celebrate the Lantern Festival, and Nashiko is put to work making 3000 lanterns. Luckily, she can count on her friends, even those who came from afar, to lend a hand. Together, they decorate the lanterns and place them in front of the city's temples for a successful festival.

As the weather cools, the Betcha Festival approaches. In Onomichi, people dance to flutes and drums while demons chase children, striking them with sticks for luck and health. Izumi, however, dreads the event due to a childhood fear but her friends are set on helping her face it.

The holiday season is here, and the Christmas spirit fills the little mahjong club. Nashiko and her friends decide to celebrate together with delicious food and a game of mahjong. Everyone pitches in to make the evening special and Nashiko, Izumi, and Pai seem to have a surprise in store for Haneru.

A new year begins with a temple visit and a sunrise. Nashiko and her friends celebrate with traditional food and, of course, a game of mahjong. In their little slice of paradise, they relax and forget their worries until trouble strikes: the automatic mahjong table is starting to break down.

The mahjong table Nashiko and her friends use has broken down. They try fixing it themselves, but no luck. Will they call the manufacturer for repairs, or keep playing without their trusty automatic table ?
