Right in time for the holidays, Kev and Lip steal a load of meat from a truck to sell at the Jockey. Unfortunately the truck happens to belong to the army, and for reasons they soon discover, the theft brings on a full Christmastime quarantine.

Frank's father arrives at the Gallagher's, much to Frank's displeasure, to meet the new additions to the family. Meanwhile, Veronica feels threatened when Karen returns and gets a job working alongside Kev at the pub.

Kev and Veronica scramble to prepare themselves for a trial week fostering a little boy named Eric. Determined to be a good dad, Kev takes drastic action when he learns that Eric's being bullied. Steve, meanwhile, steals the wrong car, and Marty's driven to the edge by his mother's cougaring ways.

The council arranges a competition to encourage residents to better maintain their properties, and drama ensues. But the Gallagher's have their own problems: Frank loses one of the twins while Sheila's away, and Fiona suspects Steve's cheating on her.

As Fiona and Steve organize their wedding, his car is stolen and he's desperate to retrieve it for reasons known all too well by PC Tony.

Sheila asks Lip to water plants for a neighbor who's on holiday, and he takes the opportunity to use the place to study. But when he returns one night to find the owner home and the place burgled, he finds himself in a jam that the whole Gallagher clan have to help get him out of.

Mandy reveals to Lip and Ian that she's pregnant with Lip's baby, and since she's been pretending to be Ian's girlfriend, Ian's the one the Maguire's threaten with castration unless he marries their girl.

To her horror, Fiona encounters someone from her school days who's not only the social worker on the Gallagher's case, but engaged to the man Fiona woke up next to after a drunken night at the Jockey. Meanwhile, Ian deduces Frank isn't his father and goes searching for his real one.

After losing a tooth in an accident at Kash's shop, Frank takes the advice of a nearby accident-salesman and files a claim, much to the anger of the estate residents. Meanwhile, Fiona tells Veronica that she's pregnant with Craig's child.

Kev's sister needs a place to stay after ditching her junkie boyfriend and Veronica's none too pleased. Craig's wife Sue dates Marty to get back at Craig, unaware that she's playing with fire.

Steve unexpectedly returns, and Fiona must choose between letting him go and leaving Chatsworth, her family and the father of her baby. Elsewhere, Kash is running for Chatsworth's Councillor seat against dirty-dealing Bernie Creme, and Lillian's husband is killed in an accident.
