Shtisel

A touching drama series presenting the story of a Haredi bachelor, Akiva Shtisel, who lives with his widowed father Shulem Shtisel in a Jewish Ultra Orthodox neighborhood in Jerusalem.

Elisheva consents to meet Akiva, and Gitti finds out her husband has left the family and fled to Argentina.

Akiva, rejected by Elisheva, dates Estee. Shulem pushes him to get engaged and remembers Dvorah, his late wife. Gitti, abandoned by her husband, is looking for a job outside the neighborhood.

Grandma Malka organizes a surprise party for herself, Zvi Arye fights mice, Gitti and Akiva both find new jobs.

Akiva has second thoughts about his upcoming wedding, and Shulem finds out that Aliza has a new suitor.

Akiva looks for a place to sleep after Shulem kicks him out of the house. Shulem feels guilty. Gitti's children deal with the absence of their father.

A burglar attacks Gitti, Shulem's salary shrinks, Akiva paints a self portrait and reveals something about himself, the sun disappears for a few moments.

Akiva invites Elisheva to see a Kleizmer music show. Akiva and his bookbinder friend go looking for the bookbinder's mother. Shulem has a heart attack and fears for his life.

Akiva has difficulties dealing with his friend's hospitalization, Shulem is sued by the rabbinical court, and drags Akiva on a journey with him.

Shulem comes back to life and pursues old loves. Akiva gets signals from the universe that he should claim his true love. Gitti tells her daughter Ruhami that dad is returning.

Akiva and Elisheva get engaged under a strange condition. Lipa, Gitti's husband, returns and faces an angry family. Shulem has management difficulties in the school.

In the season finale, Lipa readjusts to home as Gitti takes a vacation. Shulem pushes his mother to give up the TV. Akiva tells Shulem about his agreement with Elisheva.
