1983 in Lyngby, a money transport from The Danish Bank is subject to a violent assault, the robbers absconding with several million.

1986. In Jørn Moos’ home, chaos reigns at the breakfast table as he is called out to a brutal robbery in Daell’s Mall in Copenhagen. The robbery is professionally conducted and the robbers make off with millions.

Jørn Moos has fallen in disgrace with the Police Intelligence. He is convinced that Police Intelligence has removed crucial information about the key witness, and he jeopardizes his long friendship with Police Intelligence deputy head, Hans Nielsen.

Jørn Moos' investigation of the unsolved robberies are close to capsizing. Bent Knudsen, Jørn’s superior, has no faith in Jørnøs theories of international terrorism and wants to shut down Jørn’s department.

Jørn Moos is convinced that he has solved the many violent robberies, but all doors are shut to him. In desperation he consults the Chief of Police directly and asks for his help, knowing that it may have serious consequences.
