Kuroko's Basketball

The Seirin High School basketball team is practicing hard in preparation for their full-scale war on the Generation of Miracles at the Winter Cup. On one of their days off, Kuroko and his friends decide to participate in a street ball tournament where they encounter Kagami's friend from America, Himuro Tatsuya.

Murasakibara Atsushi of the Generation of Miracles appears at the tournament. In contrast with his enormous size, Murasakibara seems laid back, but when Kagami provokes him, they agree to an immediate match. With Murasakibara before him, Kiyoshi slams the pedal to the metal from the start of the game.

The Winter Cup preliminaries have finally begun. Seirin's first opponent is Josei High School, a team with the enormous new center Narumi and a strong inside presence. Josei attempts to shut down Kagami by marking him. However, with Kiyoshi's recovery, Seirin's inside had powered up considerably.

All four teams competing for the two spots representing Tokyo at the Winer Cup are present. First, Seirin crushes reigning champions Senshinkan, and Midorima's Shutoku High School easily defeats Kirisaki. However, instead of participating in the game against Shutoku, a group of Kirisaki players observed and analyzed Seirin's game.

Even as the game enters the second quarter, Kagami continues blocking Midorima's shots. While Kagami is determined Midorima will not shake him off, Midorima demonstrates a play style he never would have used before.

Just before the end of the third quarter, Seirin sends in Kuroko as their trump card. Kuroko blazes past Midorima and Takao with his new Vanishing Drive technique, scoring point after point and bringing the game to a tie.

The exhausting battle between Seirin and Shutoku ends in a tie, and Kuroko and Midorima promise to face each other again at the Winter Cup. Meanwhile, Kagami overhears a conversation between Hyuga and Kiyoshi after the game and is shocked.

After getting over everything, Hyuga decides to play basketball again. Impressed by the rooftop expressions of determination of the members, Riko joins them, and the Seirin High School basketball team begins playing in earnest.

The Winter Cup preliminary final between Seirin and Kirisaki begins. Hyuga and the rest of Seirin are excited to face their old rivals. Kuroko immediately begins using his Vanishing Drive upon the start of the game. While Seirin appears to have control of the game, the Kirisaki players continue playing rough out of sight of the referees.v

Through Kiyoshi's efforts, Seirin takes back the lead in the second quarter. Kuroko quietly burns with rage at Hanamiya's mockery of Kiyoshi and his insincere attitude towards basketball. At the beginning of the third quarter, Kirisaki finally sends in Seto.

After lectures from Hyuga and Riko, Kiyoshi returns to the bench covered in wounds. As the intense battle between the teams continues, seized by his rage for Hanamiya, Hyuga realizes his promise to Kiyoshi was not to beat Hanamiya, but to become the best team in Japan, and restores his true strength.

Their spot in the Winter Cup secured, Seirin rests and recovers at a hot springs inn, where they run into Touou Academy, who just finished a practice game in the area. While they initially thought it a coincidence, Imayoshi confesses they came to greet them.

Kagami had left his teammates to train under his master from his time in America, and the Winter Cup finally begins. After the opening ceremony, former captain of the Generation of Miracles and Rakuzan High School's current member Akashi calls the Generation of Miracles, including Kuroko, together for a meeting.

Soon after the game begins, Aomine's attack puts Touou in the lead. Seirin responds with Kuroko's new technique ""Ignite Pass Kai"" and Kiyoshi's ""Right of Postponement"", but find themselves unable to overcome Touou's strength.

His new move defeated by Aomine and his efforts until now completely denied, Kuroko cries tears of frustration on the bench. With thoughts of Kuroko in his heart, Kagami awakens and challenges Aomine with unprecedented and powerful emotions!

On top of Kuroko's movements being shut down by Imayoshi marking him, Touou completely suppresses Seirin's attacks with a defense incorporating Momoi's data and predictions. Aomine exhibits a power even greater than the awakened Kagami's and demonstrates the difference in their skill.

In the fourth quarter, Seirin faces Touou with their team play, but as the shootout continues, the gap between them refuses to close. However, Kuroko, Kagami, and Kiyoshi finally succeed in stopping Aomine by triple teaming him and close the gap to a three point difference.

With the hopes of his teammates on his back, Kagami follows Aomine into the Zone. While no one can interfere with their high level play, Aomine somehow seemed to be having fun.

Advancing through their first game of the Winter Cup, Seirin enjoys a break at Kagami's apartment when a beautiful blonde suddenly appears.

In their second game of the Winter Cup, Seirin faces Nakamiya South. Under Riko's command, Seirin plays without Kuroko and Kagami. Unable to hit their stride, the team struggles. However, they manage to secure a victory due to their strong desire to become the best in Japan.

The quarterfinal match against Generation of Miracles member Murasakibara and Kagami's friend from America Himuro's team Yosen High finally begins! Seirin take on the undefeated and impregnable ""Shield of Aegis"" Yosen defense with their fast passing and Kiyoshi's Vice Claw, but fail to score any points by the end of the first quarter.

In the third quarter, the battle between former brothers Kagami and Himuro truly begins. Himuro demonstrates a level of skill comparable with the Generation of Miracles with his Mirage Shots and elegant play, but Kagami is unable to play at his best.

Seirin attempt to triple team him but are unable to stop his monstrous power, and his powerful Thor's Hammer dunk breaks their defense. With Kiyoshi's Rite of Postponement rendered ineffective and Kagami's defense broken, Murasakibara even destroys the basket...

Still trapped in a predicament, Seirin clings to Yosen using their new Stealth Full-court Man-to-man Defense to maximize Kuroko's chance of stealing the ball. The benched Kiyoshi expresses his desire to get back on the court, and with Riko he attempts and unreasonable recovery.
