Norsemen

Arvid and the Vikings from Norheim return home with massive amounts of loot after another raid to the West, while hand-less Jarl Varg and his soldiers struggle to find anything to plunder in the East. The conflict comes to a head when they meet again, and dreams of revenge roil in Jarl's mind. Orm, Rufus and Liv are on their way to Rome when they run into an old acquaintance.

A seminar takes place at Jarl Varg's. His leadership style is up for discussion and new values are presented. Romance blooms between Arvid and Frøya, but an old flame resurfaces and spoils their plans. Dissatisfaction grows among the slaves, and Kark is forced to choose sides between the new and old slaves. Jarl Varg tries new tricks to acquire the Map to the West.

Jarl Varg is tired of his prostheses and summons the country's best blacksmiths to make new body parts for him. His quest to acquire the Map to the West has experienced another setback, and he has to devise a new strategy. Orm is left out when the slaves get together for a Friday mead, and he doesn't exactly take it lightly.

Orm's successful assassination plan and some document forgery leads Rufus to the top of the social hierarchy in Norheim. The only one who senses something is afoot is Hildur, but she is cut down by Rufus' tyrannical strategy. Torstein Hund pays Arvid a visit with what he believes is a threat from Jarl Varg, and Orm inflicts vengeance on the slaves for leaving him out of the Friday mead.

Eigil and the other farmers prepare their revolt, and lay in ambush as Arvid and the Vikings approach the thing. The Norheim Vikings are sitting ducks when a shower of arrows from the peasants hits them, and Orm is the first to fall. Jarl Varg has a devious plan for the thing, where he takes legal action to acquire the Map to the West.

Once again Orm finds himself in his rightful position, and Rufus starts loading a ship and recruiting a crew for his return to Rome. Frøya is in mourning, until a surprise changes everything. Jarl Varg comes to Norheim to finally get his prostheses on the map, but he also has another agenda. When Orm, Rufus and Liv wake up after Rufus' going-away feast, everything in the village has changed.
