Leonard & Hungry Paul

Imaginative and friendless, Leonard was always content playing board games with his best friend Hungry Paul. But when his mother dies, he faces a world he fears slipping away from. Meanwhile, the equally content Hungry Paul is pushed by his mother to volunteer at a hospital, bonding with a patient. Soon, a new colleague named Shelley enters Leonard's life, making him smile again.

To overcome his nerves and talk to Shelley, Leonard inadvertently ends up on a calamitous date with Rhona. It ends in disaster with an ex-boyfriend chef, but Leonard is left smiling when Shelley delights in the story, sparking a real bond between them. His universe is expanding after all. Meanwhile, across town, a newly motivated Hungry Paul decides to enter an exciting competition.

Hungry Paul receives good news via a letter he delivers to himself. Meanwhile, Leonard successfully asks Shelley to lunch, prompting him to cancel his usual board-game night for a real first date. Discombobulated by the change, Hungry Paul heads to the hospital to visit Mrs Hawthorn, but a detour over some expired chocolates leaves him incensed and demanding justice at a local shop.

Head over heels after their first date, Leonard is unnerved to learn Shelley is going to the cinema with another man. After obsessing over who Patrick might be, he realizes he must ask her outright. Meanwhile, Hungry Paul is shortlisted in an email sign-off competition. He attends the awards ceremony with his family, and the outcome leads to a unique opportunity with the National Mime Association.

Leonard gets positive feedback on his new children's book proposal. Encouraged, he asks Shelley to go on another date, which doesn't go to plan. Meanwhile Hungry Paul attends an unusual job interview, to become the new spokesperson for the National Mime Association.

Leonard learns the fate of his book proposal and of his future with Shelley. On the eve of her wedding, Grace feels held back by her responsibility towards her younger brother. Hungry Paul attends his sister's wedding and starts a new venture to reintroduce people to silence.
