You can't pay a good guide enough is the adage that every angler will attest to. Gareth visits two of the finest saltwater flats guides in the Seychelles who showcase their prowess, as Tommo and Brad trust the skills of their skipper around the islands to deliver the goods.

Any river in which both Brown and Rainbow Trout thrive is sure to attract Jerry and Gareth to throw a fly in amongst, but when they find a stretch that flows into a dam thousands of acres in size, they call in the calvary to explore the vast expanse of Spring Grove.

One of the oldest deserts in the Africa isn't where you'd expect to find anglers prospecting, but the great orange river, on the border of Namibia has a treasure trove of fish. Tommo and Rhu hunt for the apex predator in this arid landscape, hooking into real trophies.

The Kruger Park is as wild as any natural environment can get. Gareth and Tommo get invited by the scientific services to take part in research of the Sabie River, their survey samples waters that have never been fished before with some spectacular results.

The islands off the Mozambique coast are a breeding ground for migratory fish and its underwater seascape a hunting ground for anglers of every ilk. The fly, lure and bait team maraud around the islands challenging anything that swims to test their tackle.

The estuaries of Angola are the nursery for all fish that roam off it's cold Atlantic seaboard and it's where in certain seasons the Jacks and Tarpon are to be found. Tommo and Wes split up to experiment in two of Angola's most prolific waterways.

Jerry and Tommo invite two of their fishing mates to experience the frontier of the Kilombero North concession. The Mnyera River does not disappoint as everyone gets in on the action with their personal best and Tommo ticks a very unusual and brand-new species of his list.

Trophy fish remain the pursuit of every angler when making the journey to fish a piece of water. Tommo and Rhu cruise around the Chobe game reserve and surrounds, looking for the double-digit Tigers that feed on the prolific bait fish from the receding floodplains.

This stretch of coastline has claimed more ships and spun more stories of sunken treasure than any in Africa, justifying its title. The team venture along this barren landscape unearthing species unique to this rich coastline despite the inclement conditions.

There's only one way to really cover a large section of the Indian ocean and that's in the comforts and convenience of a live-aboard yacht. Tommo sails to Northern Mozambique, looking for new coral reefs and any nervous water that would provide entertainment.

Bass although not endemic to Southern Africa have thrived in their nutrient rich waters. Gareth and Jerry forage in the Natal Midlands hoping to encounter small mouth on fly while Tommo and Bass guru Dex throw lures for their largemouth cousins across the border.

The Barotse floodplains have a reputation for Tigers that exceed the legendary 20-pound mark. Tommo and Rhu fly into this angling haven hoping to hook into the 'Barotse Express' and in the process discover an equally impressive fish that few have notched up.
