In the opening days of 2018, Alabama-native journalist Charles Kriel walked into UK Parliament to give evidence that Cambridge Analytica had harvested data on millions of people across America and Britain, using it to manipulate the election of Donald Trump and the British referendum on leaving the EU. The Committee appointed him Special Advisor, beginning an 18-month investigation.
