The Special Needs Hotel

Foxes is a unique hotel on the Somerset Coast that trains young people from across the country with a range of learning disabilities in the art of hospitality. For most of them, not only will this be their first job, it's their first time away from home. They'll get 3 years of intensive, hands-on experience of life in a working hotel. Follow three newcomers over a dramatic year.

It's January and the beginning of Spring term at Foxes, which provides a unique 3-year course for young people with a range of learning disabilities. The course is all about honing their new-found skills to prepare for the outside world, from keeping the rooms spic and span in housekeeping, to keeping the guests happy front-of-house, to making sure everyone is well-fed.

It's spring in Minehead and the holiday-makers have arrived. The best hotels in town are fully booked but there is one that is different from all the others. Foxes Hotel offers a unique training course for young people with a range of learning disabilities, but working at the hotel is only part of their journey. Now the 3rd years face the next step and learn how to cope in the outside world.
