The Accident

When Lucia learns that her husband, Jose, believed to have died in a plane crash, was not on the passenger list, her entire life unravels. What did his trucking company really transport? And who was the woman with him at the airport?

Lucia tries to overcome the disappearance of her husband with the support of her family and friends. Joao invites Lucia to the farm to meet her and her son. Meanwhile, Jose and Maria, the woman at the airport, are locked up in Turkey.

Lucia begins to suspect that Jose's disappearance is more than a simple case of infidelity. Jaun is feeling pressure from Joao to find the missing money and drugs. Jose, bound and gagged, is thrown on Lucia’s doorstep.

Jose receives a video of Lucia and Samuel shopping for birthday supplies. He lies to Lucia, telling her that they are being watched but that he does not know who is responsible and Lucia warns Jose that he is in danger of losing his family.

Ramon confesses to Nacho that he actually works for Spain's Drugs and Organized Crime Unit and that he is in town investigating a local cartel with connections in Turkey. Meanwhile, Lucia discovers the identity of Jose's lover.

Lucia drowns her sorrows in alcohol and goes to confront Jose. When she sees him and Maria together in their forest hideaway, she is devastated and out of control. Meanwhile, Manuel manages to burn Chupito's car in the police parking lot.

In the hospital, Lucia learns that she is pregnant. She only shares this news with Isabel, as she’s unsure how she feels about Jose. Maria visits Lucia and warns her that if Joao finds out he would kill them all, including Samuel.

Joao begins to suspect Jose and instructs Nico to keep an eye on him and Maria. Imprisoned and desperate to get his family back, Jose finally confesses everything to Juan, who will have to ally himself with Maria to help Tomas and Lucas.

Maria and Juan try to intercept the truckers and find a bloodbath. Nico threatens Juan but Maria shoots him. They reunite with Jose to deal with the bodies, but Nico disappears. Meanwhile, Lucia finds drugs in Lucas’ backpack.

After Ramon proposes that she collaborate with the police to help Jose, Lucia hatches a plan to get herself access to Joao’s farm. Meanwhile, Jose, Juan and Manuel try to convince Joao they had nothing to do with the missing drugs.

Juan and Jose are desperate to prove that they had nothing to do with the truck intercepted by Nico, even as Nico recovers--though is still unable to speak. Meanwhile, Paul and Joao set a trap for Jose--and send him a message.

Paul, trying to woo Lucia, invites her to an important dinner on the farm. Suspecting that Joao and Paul will contact their supplier there, Ramon pressures Lucia to accept. Meanwhile Jose, very affected by Lucas' death, confronts Joao.

Lula searches for evidence of Maria’s betrayal. Lucia’s subterfuge put her in a very precarious position.  Joao and Paul agree that Raimundo is a threat to their business and take drastic measures to keep him under control.

Joao tells Jose and Lucia that he will keep Samuel at the farm until Jose completes his deal with the Colombians. However, when Lula shows Joao compromising photos of Jose and Maria, he changes the terms of their deal.

Despite Lucia’s protests, Jose leaves with Maria, prepared to kill her for Samuel’s safe return. Lucia tries to tell the police, but they are engaged in a major operation. Joao reveals that he knows more than he’s been letting on.

Maria’s murder and Jose’s arrest have caused journalists to invade Zarza and camp in front of Lucia's house. Joao, despite ordering it, is deeply affected by Maria’s death and his business is at risk. Juan confesses his feelings to Lucia.

While the media frenzy surrounding the murder distracts Joao, Lucia, Jose and Maria--still very much alive--make plans with Ramon and Nacho to go into hiding. Unfortunately, a final betrayal puts the plan in jeopardy.
