Masterpiece: Heat of the Sun

From PBS and Masterpiece: Superintendent Albert Tyburn is thrust into an investigation of the disappearance, soon becoming tangled in a web of murder, arson, and a secret love affair.

From PBS and Masterpiece: Tyburn is called in to investigate the death of a young native girl and the abduction of another from a Christian mission in Nairobi. But for Corporal Karinde (Freddie Annobil-Dodoo), the investigation is a family matter: the abducted girl is his cousin, Mary (Memory Santos). Suspecting that the mission is not all it seems to be, Tyburn discovers an unexpected connection between the mission and a foundering coffee plantation nearby.

From PBS and Masterpiece: Tyburn investigates the Watcham coffee plantation, run by Avril (Diana Quick, "Brideshead Revisited"), Matilda (Deborah Findlay) and brother Theodore (Richard McCabe) and learns that the plantation deals in more than just coffee beans, leading him to expose a series of surprising relationships, secret identities -- and an evil enterprise.

From PBS and Masterpiece: Investigating the murder of a local boy who worked for newspaper magnate Max Van der Vuurst (Joss Ackland), Tyburn boldly arrests the tycoon. When Van der Vuurst is exonerated with the help of his dissembling daughter Hilde (Sonya Walger), Tyburn, certain Van der Vuurst is guilty, is all the more determined to bring him to justice.

From PBS and Masterpiece: When Max Van der Vuurst is found burned to death in his bed, Superintendent Tyburns search for the truth leads to a violent shoot-out with a band of African marauders and triggers one last surprise from the dead millionaire -- and full-blown romance for Tyburn and Emma.
