The Good Son

In the eyes of many, Olivia and Victor Buenavidez, together with their sons, Enzo and Calvin, have the perfect family. However, on his 40th birthday, Victor leaves his family for another woman. As he is enjoying the company of Raquel and their son, Joseph, he suffers a heart attack and dies almost instantly. With his unexpected passing, the worlds of his two families suddenly collide.

As everyone is still distraught over Victor's passing, the image of the happy family the Buenavidezes have long tried to maintain is slowly falling apart, their true colors showing through the cracks.

Enzo couldn't be more shocked as he finally learns one of the darkest secrets his seemingly perfect family has kept from him. Now that Raquel and Joseph's existence are no longer hidden from both parties, even more conflict arise and lawsuits are being filed on top of another.

The revelation that Victor may have been murdered opens up even more questions about his death. In the midst of all the accusations being thrown in every direction, investigators are scouring every corner for evidence, starting with the interrogation of the Reyeses.

Despite Olivia obviously abhorring the idea of being in the same room with her, Raquel dives into unfamiliar waters and attends her first board meeting at Buenavidez Rice Company in behalf of her son.

Despite the culture shock, Joseph is slowly finding his place in Brisard University, and is beginning to make friends. However, no matter how much he tries to stay away from trouble, he ends up butting heads with Enzo.

Despite moving on to another house, none of the Buenavidezes are ready to let go of the past. With Victor's killer still at large, all Olivia and Enzo could do to ease their pain is put all the blame on the Reyeses, and make them suffer.

As he tries his best to cope with everything that has happened, Cal ends up hurting himself. Even though he tries to hide it, seeing his brother suffer makes Enzo even more worked up, greatly affecting everyone around him.

Not being able to deny the previous case filed against her, Raquel remains to be the person of interest in Colmenares' investigations. Similarly, Joseph is yet to prove that he is not guilty of vandalizing Enzo's car.

With Joseph joining the starting line-up of the Blue Jaguars, Enzo becomes even more riled up. While all his efforts seem to have backfired as Joseph gets all the spotlight, Matilda, on the other hand, seems to have gotten all the right cards on her hands.

With insufficient evidence to prove Raquel guilty, SPO1 Colmenares lets the woman go. However, she isn't exactly off the hook as the investigator digs even deeper into her past.

With their combined efforts, Raquel and Anthony manage to avert the crisis that almost hit the company. However, trouble just won't leave Raquel's side.

Now that more secrets are revealed, tensions arise in both households. Obet, finding it hard to accept that Raquel has lied to him for years, grows painfully cold towards his mother.

Realizing that Calvin's growing friendship with Joseph may be used to their advantage, Olivia switches gears and decides to change her strategy to undermine the Reyeses.

As Enzo decides not to file charges for the attack, Joseph ends up receiving the short end of the stick, and is reminded of his place in Brisard as others keep on questioning his intentions for saving his half-brother.

Victor's perfect image, as a businessman and as a father, is slowly being tainted by his flaws, as more painful memories haunt his family.

Growing tired of his mother preventing him from meeting Arthur, Obet ends up getting drunk and explodes with anger, causing Raquel to reconsider her decisions.

Things are looking up for Obet as he finally gets what he has always wanted, easing the tension at the Reyeses' household. The Buenavidezes, on the other hand, are all growing even more distraught, as Olivia disapproves Calvin's friendship with Justine, and as Enzo gets a taste of his own medicine.

As if nothing is going wrong, Olivia meets with Mr. De Guzman with a big smile on her face. But behind all this, Joseph's own investigation uncovers even darker secrets of the Buenavidezes, showing more signs of Olivia and Victor's unhappy marriage. At the same time, it gives light to another side of Enzo that Joseph has never seen before.

Finally convincing Mr. De Guzman to agree to the partnership, Olivia prepares a grand party to celebrate the two company's merger.

Just as the party's about to end, Joseph and Enzo are abducted and held hostage by the men whom Matilda owes a huge sum to. With time running out, can Olivia and Raquel set aside their differences in order to save their sons?

Olivia struggles as she is forced to choose between her obligations as a daughter over her obligations as mother to Enzo, in order to appease the situation. This leaves Joseph with even more questions, refusing to sit still till the truth comes out.
