Final year Engineering student, Shailaja Vaidya, returns to her village to fulfil the promise of reopening the school that her ailing father started. Shailaja does manage to reopen the school but has a tough time managing just 12 children. To add to her woes, she gets a circular from the Education Department that all schools with less than 20 students would be shut down.
