Sparks fly when Father Clifford casts Assumpta as heroine in the village play. She objects to playing the love scenes, but then the romantic lead arrives.

When Enda is spotted panning for gold, Liam and Donal cook up a tourism scam. Meanwhile Father Clifford tries to save the job of a dedicated teacher.

Liam and Donal try to capture different aspects of village life for Quigley's tourist film. Meanwhile, Niamh insists Ambrose share her cravings. And Assumpta accepts Enda's dinner invitation, which annoys the lover that Assumpta is not sure he has.

Father Peter's talks with the local youth club is dubbed the "sex talk." After slipping on a piece of soap and being temporarily replaced, Ambrose teams up with Quigley to oust the new Garda. And Niamh faces tragedy.

Brian Quigley hires a new housekeeper despite Niamh's displeasure. A bunch of tearaway kids cause problems for schoolteacher Brendan.

Siobhan turns detective when a beautiful woman arrives in the village for Quigley's beauty pageant. Meanwhile, Father Peter tries to help Genghis Con O' Neill, but in the end it is Ambrose who is able to reach the family-less lad.

Quigley runs into an old acquaintance who tells him about a scam, which the villagers rely upon after deciding to restore the shopkeeper's burned-down house and discovering they didn't raise enough money to complete the project.

Strangers, Tom and Jerry, watch Quigley who is later robbed of his account books, sparking the rumor that the two men are from "the Revenue." Meanwhile Assumpta considers moving to Dublin without telling Father Peter. And Niamh goes to the doctor.
