Mussolini and I

In 1942, as World War II turns against the Axis powers, Benito Mussolini insists Italy can still win the war, despite signs of collapse. Count Galeazzo Ciano, his son-in-law and foreign minister, warns him that defeat is imminent. The growing tension between them reflects a deeper fracture in leadership and the unraveling of fascist control.

Italy's war effort falters, and Ciano grows increasingly vocal against Mussolini's leadership. His secret diaries document the regime's failures and internal discord. As dissent rises, Mussolini's grip weakens, and Ciano faces mounting danger for his opposition, caught between conscience and survival.

As the war nears its end, Mussolini is ousted and chaos befalls Italy. Ciano is arrested and condemned for treason. Edda fights desperately to save him, but her pleas fall on deaf ears. Mussolini, now a puppet of the Nazis, watches his world collapse. Tragedy looms as both men face the consequences of their choices.
