Cleaver languishes in prison surrounded by enemies including former attorney general, Cal, and mob-boss Mick’s older brother, George, who runs the penitentiary. As Cleaver tries to survive his sentence, Scarlet works on Cleaver’s appeal.

Cleaver’s appeal is granted after he mentions a triggering word to a corrupt judge. Cleaver wants to celebrate, but a lot has happened since he’s been inside. Barney has a new outlook on life after a startling diagnosis.

The film about Melissa and Joshua premieres, with a surprising casting choice for Cleaver. After a scuffle with David and a drug-fueled night of partying, Cleaver meets Felicity, the sister of his former cellmate, Malcolm.

Nicole moves in with Scarlet and Barney as Barney undergoes his last chemo treatment. A botched robbery at the offices of casino mogul Tikki Wendon brings Cleaver new clients.

A huge corruption scandal overtakes town, decimating David’s party and leaving a shortage of QCs. With no one else to turn to, a politician, a priest, and a banker all seek Cleaver’s counsel on their royal commission hearings.

Wendy plans her wedding to Roger and asks Cleaver to stay out of it, but a revelation involving Roger’s sports club brings the three of them together again. Cleaver tries to woo Felicity, but things don’t go as planned.

Cleaver manages to talk his way out of a hostage situation, but does not leave the scene unharmed. As Scarlet and Barney finalize their decision to divorce, Cleaver defends his son, Fuzz, who is accused of smuggling blood diamonds from the Congo.

Things are finally looking up for Cleaver-new clients are flowing in, and his debt with Kirsty is forgiven. But a random scuffle with a businessman on the sidewalk threatens Cleaver’s new solvency as well as his banker case.
