24 Hours In A&E

This episode follows three different patients that teach us that we must continue to learn and adapt from the challenges that life throws at us.

56-year-old Wendy is rushed to St George's with an open ankle fracture after falling in her garden. Meanwhile, 84-year-old Ioannis has come into A&E with pain in his elbow after collapsing at home following a bout of dizziness.

11-year-old Ashanti is rushed to St. George's by ambulance after being struck by a car and hitting the windscreen whilst on her way to school. 60-year-old Julie is transferred to resus with a serious open ankle fracture after tripping over her cat and falling down the stairs.

74-year-old Mick is rushed to St George's after falling from standing at home, snapping his ankle in two places. 32-year old Naomi is also in resus with potentially life-changing injuries to her neck and spine after colliding with an opponent during a rugby match.

Colombian born Diana rushes to St George's where her 19-year-old son Daniel has been brought into resus after falling sideways off his motorbike. Stroke doctor Richard treats 72-year-old John who has been blue-lighted to St George's with a suspected second stroke, while wife Jean waits for news at home.

76-year-old Basil is rushed to A&E with a deep cut to his head after falling down some stairs at home. Delrose brings her 5-year-old daughter Robyn into the paediatric department after getting a large splinter lodged in her bottom. 51-year-old Alexandra is in ED injuries with a lump on her shoulder that's developed since having a fall 5 weeks prior.

69-year-old Mark is rushed to St George's after collapsing playing tennis. 56-year-old Shiragha is brought into resus with shortness of breath, whilst 26-year-old Harry comes into A&E after clashing heads with another player at football.

49-year-old Gus is rushed to St. George's after slipping from a 20ft ladder. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Daisy has come to A&E vomiting blood after getting a tonsillectomy two day ago. Paramedics later rush 93-year-old Leonard to the resus department after he fell down a flight of stairs injuring his head and leg.

46-year-old Claire has been sent to A&E by her GP with chronic back pain, whilst 44-year-old Anne Marie has been rushed into St George's with a suspected stroke.

Consultant Mark treats 15-year-old schoolgirl Meldred who is stabbed by a stranger when she is walking to school. Sports commentator, Andrew, presents some unusual symptoms when blood spots and a swollen ankle make it difficult for him to walk.

93 year old Sir Robert is rushed to St. George's with a dangerously low heart rate after experiencing dizziness and confusion at home. Meanwhile, in ED Injuries 29 year old Brad has come to A&E after crushing his finger at work. Severe haemophiliac Tom walks into Resus for urgent attention after falling off his bike.

Nasly has been brought into St George's by ambulance after suffering a rare complication of diabetes. 72-year-old Charlie has been bought into A&E with crippling chest and back pain. Meanwhile we join emergency nurse practitioner Alison on a busy shift in the injuries department.

Stroke doctor Bryan is having a busy day in resus. 70-year-old Jenny is rushed into the emergency department with left sided weakness and problems with her speech, whilst 81-year-old Brian has facial droop and spinal tingling. In Majors, 29-year-old Ronnie is experiencing severe lower back pain.

50-year-old Sara is rushed to St George's having suffered a thunderclap headache, while 13-year-old Flynn is in Paediatrics having bullseyed a car windscreen when hit while riding his bike. 52-year-old Jane come to A&E having suffered a severe headache.

75-year-old Krystyn is in A&E after a car crash with a truck. Cyclist Ian has collided with a car & Madge 84, has fallen at home.

Lynn has suffered from a brain aneurysm, while James is having his shoulder relocated. Lucas has a urinary tract infection.

Junior doctor Ming carries out a chest drain for the first time. Mery is 17 weeks pregnant and is in Resus after falling down the stairs. Jessica, 24 has a netball injury.

Allan, 79, is in Resus having fallen in the garden, 63-year-old Peter has an infected splinter and Des is suffering chest pains.

Thomas has suffered a stroke, while Mary is rushed to A&E after falling at home. Leslie is experiencing persistent nosebleeds.

93-year-old Sir Robert is rushed to St. George's with a dangerously low heart rate.

Bipin is in A&E suffering from a stroke. Meanwhile Myra crashed her bicycle into a wall. Emergency Nurse Practitioner Louise reflects on her past.

Trina has a rare condition and is brought to A&E struggling to breathe. Sammy has chest pains, while Ella gets unexpected news when doctors Xray her knee.

Consultant Sobi leads the team in Resus treating Gus, 15, after a bike accident, and Patricia, 73 for a shoulder dislocation. Bryan has injured his hand dog walking.

Jim, 70 is in Resus with difficulty breathing, whilst Savita and her 5-year-old son Rayan were hit by a car. Terry is suffering with foot and knee pain following surgery.
