Joanna is determined to explore every inch of India as she ventures from the south to the heights of the Himalayas. She encounters a dazzling, multicolored temple which comes alive at night with wild celebration, experiences a deeply personal revelation when visiting where her mother lived as a child before traveling to Calcutta where she's moved by the plight of the many people on its streets.

Determined to get under the skin of India, Joanna encounters the highs and lows of the country. The highs come in Mumbai with a visit to one of the world's tallest residential buildings. While the lows include a shocking murder involving India's 'untouchable' community. On the way she gets a taste for camel's milk, takes a ride with an all-female taxi company and unearths more family history.

Joanna finally decides to go wild in India as she gets up close and personal with tigers at a National Park before having a flashback to her modeling days as she drops into a magazine photoshoot. She helps out at a Delhi call center and tries to support the city's homeless population. She makes her way to Kashmir, her birthplace, then meets and has a surprisingly open chat with the Dalai Lama.
