House of Rocheville

In The House's Talking, the Rocheville family's ancestral estate begins to reveal the weight of its past. As France faces sweeping change, hidden tensions and long-held secrets rise to the surface. Victor de Rocheville and his friend Fabio, the son of a servant, go through, after the carefree nature of a protected childhood, the hazards and vicissitudes of existence.

As Charles, Antonio, and Sylvana come of age, Villeblanche is shaken by secrets: Fabio is Joseph's long-lost son, Victor's grandfather may have caused the family curse, and Clélia claims her daughter is Joseph's heir. As motives and loyalties are questioned, the Rocheville legacy begins to unravel.

During the war, Victor, Fabio, and Martin survive the hell of 1914-1918, while in Villeblanche, Eugénie and Mathilde give birth to Charles and Antonio. Haunted by a fateful choice, Victor discovers that Fabio is his half-brother.

Mathilde is torn between her mother's desire for revenge and her love for Fabio. She loses herself in her professional activity and in the arms of Jacques, an influential and unscrupulous notable.

In The House Under Control, war tears the Rochevilles apart. Charles profits by siding with occupiers, while Fabio and Sylvana join the resistance. Marriages crumble-Mathilde and Fabio drift apart, Eugénie leaves Victor. As ideology divides them, the occupation brings lasting scars to Villeblanche.

The war destroys the unity of the Rochevilles. While Charles collaborates with the occupier and pays himself with the money and property of the deported Jews, Fabio and Sylvana join the resistance.
