When the Popes arrive from London to stay with Jenny's parents in Kettering, it's supposed to be a short visit. However, Jenny has some shocking news that means they'll be there for longer than expected.

As the Popes and Millers adjust to life under the same roof, Jenny and Nick press ahead with plans to return to London. Nick tries to convince Len to let him convert the shed into a home office for his energy drink "business." Meanwhile, Jenny aims to find an actual paying job.

Jenny has reached a new low after failing to find work, so Alma tries to cheer her up with a surprise visit from one of her London pals. But Alma's best intentions backfire when the person Nick suggests turns out to be more of a foe than a friend.

When Jenny stumbles upon her old diary, feelings of resentment toward Alma come flooding back. Nick finally completes the first test batch of his energy drink, but his test subject won't play ball.

Valentine's Day brings out the best and worst in the Pope-Miller household. Alma gets up early to smother her grandchildren, only to find that Jenny has already smuggled them out of the house.

A sick Jenny visits the local hospital and walks out with a job interview for practice manager. When she informs the family, they are confronted with the possibility that the Popes may be moving into their own place.
