The Connecticut Huskies claimed their third national championship by defeating the Butler Bulldogs, 53-41. At age 68, Jim Calhoun became the oldest coach in NCAA history to win the title. UConn's Kemba Walker lead all scorers with a game high 16 points. Neither team showcased their offensive capabilities, but Butler shot an abysmal 18.8% from the field; a national championship game record.
