Kiri

Social worker Miriam arranges an unsupervised visit for a Black foster child named Kiri with her birth grandfather, Tobi, before she's adopted by a White family. But when Kiri goes missing, Miriam is publicly condemned as the search intensifies.

As the backlash against Miriam escalates, Tobi is racked with guilt about his role in Kiri's death and is determined to find his son Nate, the prime suspect in her murder. Meanwhile, the media descend on Kiri's adoptive family.

Kiri's would-be adoptive parents, Alice and Jim, are dismayed to find out that new evidence in the case will make charging Nate difficult. Alice goes on the offensive with Miriam, and Tobi loses his patience with the police.

DI Mercer confronts Nate with the latest discoveries about Kiri's murder. Miriam realizes she has to take responsibility for her actions, while Alice's devastation gets the better of her. Tobi must decide whether or not to back his son.
