Robert has finally got an opportunity to work as a GP in a private practice. The only problem is it means moving to Yorkshire. How's his other mother going to take the news?

The journey to Yorkshire proves to be extremely problematic: the car breaks down several times and secretary Edith Parfitt gets more and more worried.

Ida is missing the London life and struggling with the slow-paced countryside. She plans to pack her bags, but a medical emergency soon changes her mind.

Mrs. Price and Wilfred plan a visit. When they arrive, Wilfred tells Ida he's set to propose to his 'passion flower,' but his eye is caught elsewhere.

In the local corner shop, Ida overhears that there are local plans to open a hostel for single mothers. She must then take on Mrs. Cross, the shopkeeper who is fiercely opposed to the idea.

Mrs. Price visits and announces that she's lonely in London - and plans to move in with Robert, Angie and Ida.

Ida drops some not-so-subtle hints that her birthday is approaching and tells Angie that she wants a strong man to carry her away. When Ida's birthday arrives, she is extremely angry about being given awful presents.
