Luring Fred and Lamont to Hawaii, a trio of jewel thieves plot to make Fred their mule for smuggling stolen diamonds to California.

While at a convention in Hawaii, Fred becomes an unwitting jewel smuggler.

Completely unaware that he is part of a robbery, Fred loses track of his friends' "package" and is chased by the crooks all over the island -- including Don Ho's nightclub and Sea Life Park. Who'll get them first, the crooks or the cops?

When Fred and Lamont are told that there might be oil in their own backyard, they trust an Arab oil company representative (guest star Ross Martin) to confirm the findings. Abdul Aram agrees with the report and Fred sets about spending his future millions. Lamont thinks it's too good to be true. Could he be right?

Fred falls for one of his tenants and can't understand her aloofness -- until he discovers the "lady" is really a man on the run from the police.

Fred is determined to impress Lamont's future mother-in-law by setting a new world's record and getting his name in the Guinness Book. However, the record he chooses to break is quite a bit harder than he expected.

Fred can't wait to try out the new promotion idea that he just bought from two "salesmen." Convinced that the idea will increase sales in the junkyard, Fred misses the "catch" that could put him and Lamont in the poorhouse.

Fred is ecstatic when the Mayor selects him to represent Watts businessmen on a community relations committee. But the other members of the committee have quite another reaction and offer Fred a most unusual bribe.

In a desperate attempt to persuade Lamont to stay with him in the junk business, Fred secretly borrows money from the bank to show his son that business is booming. But in order to pay back the loan, Fred has to take a second job -- as a restaurant busboy.

When a curious visitor arrives at the Sanford home and claims to have known Fred forty years ago, Fred's memory suddenly falters. Is it because too much time has gone by or is it because of the bank robbery?

Esther has been trying to adopt a baby for quite some time and finally gets an appointment with the adoption agency. But when the case worker comes to check out the home environment, Esther's husband is drunk and the only other one around is Fred.

Unaware that Lamont and Esther are trying to surprise him by sending out the furniture to be re-upholstered, Fred comes home early and thinks its all been stolen. He's even sure of the thieves.

Fred and Lamont become peacemakers when Esther finds that her newly adopted son doesn't believe in God and kicks him out of the house.

Fred, Lamont and Bubba perform a song-and-dance routine on Fred's favorite television program, "The Gong Show," with plans of winning the grand prize. But Fred's brother-in-law Rodney has a very special plan of his own.

Fred must decide if he should spend time with his accountant (guest star Jack Carter) and complete his tax forms before the deadline or spend the time competing in a Redd Foxx look-alike contest. (Foxx performs a dual role and his daughter appears as his secretary.)

Grady tries an ancient Oriental magic trick and shackles Fred to Esther -- without realizing the directions for releasing the locks are written in Chinese!

A sudden loss of hearing sends Fred into shock. But when a doctor easily solves his problem, Fred is reluctant to give up the loving sympathy he's been getting from his girlfriend and decides to stay "deaf."

After Fred decorates his living room for his future daughter-in-law Janet's bridal shower and Rollo gives Lamont a stag party, Janet's ex-husband arrives with an earth-shattering proclamation that could change the course of everyone's life.

To avoid taxes, Fred becomes a clergyman of the Divine Profit Church and appoints Bubba and Woody as officers. But when the head of the Church shows up at the first service to collect his 50% of the proceeds, Fred forms yet another sect -- "Junkism."

Fred is fearful that his days are numbered after Esther delivers a crushing blow to his head with her Bible-laden purse. He assembles all his family and friends for a reading of his newly prepared will.

An innocent shopping trip turns violent when a shady salesman refuses to grant a time payment plan to anyone over 65. Incensed by the salesman's policy, Fred becomes the leader of a militant gang of oldsters in search of revenge.

Fred and Lamont need a quick $4,000 to buy the Sanford Arms. Investing their last $500 in a poker game, Fred wins. He successfully parlays those winnings at the racetrack. Now he's off to Las Vegas to try and do it again. How long can his luck hold out?

Fred is so certain he is a descendant of a famous person that he pays a company $25 to trace his roots. But the secret the company digs up could change the rest of his life.

Fred invites B.B. King to dinner at the Sanford home and may give the famous singer another reason to sing the blues. B.B. King guest stars.

When Fred is caught spending a lot of time with Doris, a white school-teacher, everyone is sure he's only studying about the birds and bees. But Fred insists there's much more to the relationship.
