WW II in the Pacific

On December 7, 1941, Japan took a giant risk and launched a surprise bombing against the U.S. Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. In the following months, Japanese forces rampaged across Asia, humiliating America and its allies. It looked as though Japan was unbeatable, but then America mustered the strength and plan to fight back.

This episode shows how America crushed Japan's Pacific Empire during World War Two; a bloody and brutal war of attrition on land, in the air, and on the ocean. By the Spring of 1945, the loss of life is great for both sides, but Japan refuse to surrender. The U.S. chiefs are desperately looking for a way to end the war to save American lives.

The War in the Pacific has at last started to go America's way, yet Japan is more determined than ever to fight to the death. The Americans are doing everything they can to break Japan's will, including launching the most ruthless aerial fire-bombing campaign the world has ever seen.
