When Dex loses his voice by trying to communicate with a duckbilled Tsintaosaurus, Dad helps him and Kayla overcome communication mix-ups by showing all the ways his favorite basketball team uses nonverbal communication to work together.

When Ms. Currie needs help in the community garden, Dex and Kayla strike a deal. They’ll assist her, so she can finish her garden before her rival, while she helps them solve Dino Experiment 1011 – “What does the Elasmotherium use its horn for?”

Dex and Kayla are trying to complete Dino Experiment 1024 “What is a T. rex like on the inside?” when Dad convinces them to go on a fantastical animated adventure inside a T. rex to see her massive stomach, heart, lungs, and not so massive brain.

Dex and Kayla have a new dino experiment to solve, DD1013: “Do different dino predators work together to catch prey?” While Dex and Kayla hunt down the answer, Dex’s mom and dad realize they better team up to get a reluctant Dex to clean his room.

When Dana visits, Dex convinces her and her friend Riley to play her old DIY board game "Game of Bones" with him and Kayla. But this time, instead of dinosaurs, the players must choose a prehistoric mammal to see who was built for survival.

When Dex is sick, Kayla makes him a Dino Boy and Rock Girl comic book and together they tell the animated story of what would happen if their superhero alter egos saved the dinosaurs from being wiped out but it’s not easy for humans to coexist with prehistoric creatures.

In part one of the Dino Dex season finale, Dex and Kayla need help taking on the Colossal Squid, Megalodon, and Albertonectes in their time-bending submarine. It's clear who they should bring in but, when Dex doesn't want to call Dana, it’s up to big sister Saara to find out why.

In part two of the Dino Dex season finale, Dex is feeling ignored by their paleontological superstar middle sister Dana, so Saara and Kayla combine forces to bring the siblings together for an epic submarine adventure that has a few dino surprises in store.
