Jack Halford decides to take revenge against his wife's killer by running him down, but luckily Pullman and the team manage to crash into him before he succeeds. With all three men in hospital, the boys decide to prove their worth by investigating the mysterious case of a patient who was murdered ten years previous.

Sandra Pullman's infuriating mother Grace needs to go into a home, but the one she has chosen has recently had a suspicious and unsolved death. Barred by Strickland from officially investigating the case, Sandra reluctantly agrees to let the boys go undercover in the home.

The discovery of an armoured security van involved in the disappearance of one person and the unsolved murder of another provides the impetus for the team to look into the case again. The security van is marooned at the bottom of a lake, and Pullman takes the brave decision to dive down and investigate.

When an elderly lady's body is discovered, part consumed by her hordes of cats, the death is dismissed as a tragic accident. But when it's discovered that she has disinherited her relatives in favour of her beloved pets, Jack becomes convinced it's murder.

The family of one of the last men to be hanged in Britain claim that he was the victim of a miscarriage of justice due to police corruption. The team decide to reinvestigate the case and have to face up to some uncomfortable truths about how things were done in the good old days.

When Brian Lane's dog finds a body on a common, it prompts two people to confess to murder. But when the body turns out to be over 600 years old, Sandra, Jack, Brian and Gerry are left with the puzzle of whether the confessions are to real murders and if so, where the bodies are.

The chance discovery of a camera and several rolls of film hidden in a pub toilet, leads the team to re-open the unsolved case of a young man who was murdered whilst working in a photography shop. But as the investigation goes on, it uncovers an unusual source of DNA on the camera and rolls of film.

The team face the challenge of explaining the death of a circus ringmaster who burned to death in his caravan. But in the midst of their enquiries, Sandra Pullman's mother has a stroke and this event leads Sandra to start asking questions about her father. Her personal quest to discover the truth takes a dark turn.
