Lanterns

After a fatal shooting, Green Lantern Hal Jordan and new recruit John Stewart set out to prove it was an extraterrestrial event.

While John's middling errand ultimately proves eventful, Hal makes waves in Rushville - which only inspires him to dig deeper.

When his dad misunderstands a contact attempt from the Guardians, John is put forth as the next best option to fulfill the Green Lantern destiny. Then, after a lifetime of preparation, John finally gets his chance to interview for the Guardians.
