Backyard oil barons in Kentucky are bidding for the next big strike on the land of a local gospel singer. Wildcat driller Coomer has been living high on the hog but decides to go for broke, digging a second well on his land.

Mountain man John Rascal’s got one more shot to hit oil on his land, so he sets out digging with his daughter on the rig. Elsewhere, high roller Jimmy Reliford gambles that a rooster can find black gold at Bald Rock Mountain.

Rascal finds kinship and maybe a gusher with a wildcat drill on Amish land. Meanwhile, Jimmy and Mad Dog work with a pastor who had a vision of an oil river and hopes to tap into that fountain of financial youth.

Father-and-son oilmen Dan and Ken Page employ a twin-toed warlock to hunt oil for a female squat thrust champion and her dentist husband while wildcat Coomer digs in to what could be a $20 million well.

City slickers are in Kentucky to strike black gold and Coomer has to decide if he’s willing to put up with a high-maintenance client. Mad Dog and his roughneck crew join a team of scientists to test some oil-finding technology.

The small town of Willis Creek has enlisted the Pages to help them strike oil, and hopefully entice some people to move back to town. Dan and Ken are at odds over their drilling approach and there's potential sabotage from a neighboring rival.

Coomer sets his patented possum traps all over a trucker’s property, planning to drill wherever they catch a varmint. Meanwhile, Mad Dog must survive the night in a haunted house that may hide Jesse James’ fortune.

The backyard oil barons line up to win over Miss Kentucky and Mad Dog angles for a date. Elsewhere, Dan Page pursues a hot lease but the landowner is a chainsaw-wielding hermit who thinks very little of Dan.
