Arcachon (Southwestern France). August. Jean-Pierre Savelli, an employee of the Clermont Ferrand Insurance Co., has just learned that his fiancée, Valerie, wants to take a "break". Hoping to get back on his feet and to find a little bit of calm and serenity, he decides to try a different vacation destination...
