Catherine Cookson's The Secret

First episode of three-part drama based on Dame Catherine Cookson¹s only thriller novel, The Harrogate Secret. It's 1885 and life is looking good for Freddie Musgrave.

Freddie realizes he has no choice but to show Belle the letter from her late mother. Belle is relieved to learn Gallagher was not her real father, but decides Marcel should know the full story.

Freddie is now a free man, but has mixed emotions when he reads newspaper reports of Maggie's confession. It brings home just how little time he has left with her.
