Head of Trading Massimo Ruggero makes NYL bank millions by speculating on the Greek crisis, in the hope of getting the Vice-CEO position.

Feeling betrayed and abandoned by Dominic, Massimo devises a plan to create a scandal against NYL and then leave it after cashing in. But as he is about push the button on his exposé, Massimo learns that Dominic is hiding something.

Deeply shaken, Massimo -with the help of Sofia, an Argentinean hacker, who hates NYL for causing her brother’s suicide.

Massimo’s traders disobey his orders and speculate on the Irish crisis falling into a trap set up by Dominic, who intervenes to save the Irish bank.

Dominic asks Massimo to help find his wife Nina, who has disappeared. When they trace her to a place where she once shared an illicit night with Massimo, Dominic reveals that he knew about their indiscretion, and decided to forgive him.

Exiled from the bank and professionally wounded, Massimo cuts a deal with Vicky to obtain the secret dossier, in exchange for the capture of Duval, the elusive head of counter-information platform, and Sofia’s employer, Subterranea.

Massimo discovers that the secret dossier hides a liquidity recycling scheme between NYL and a big German bank, used by Dominic to implement an intercontinental plot to preserve the dollar’s hegemony.

Massimo and Sofia make a hurried journey to Cetara, his birthplace, to see his ailing father. He and Massimo make an emotional peace at his bedside, and in the process Massimo is able to exorcise the personal demons that have plagued him.

Massimo’s determination to stop Dominic sees him form an unlikely alliance with Subterranea to hack NYL’s servers, in his search for ‘smoking gun’ evidence of Dominic’s plans.

Armed with the dossier, Massimo is finally able to defeat Dominic and also uncovers the identity of the killer responsible for his colleague’s death. With Dominic disgraced and his own name cleared Massimo takes his place as CEO of the bank.
