Naive salesman Eddie Martin and his fast-talking companion Jerry Baldwin enlist in the U.S. Army during World War I, expecting adventure and easy glory. Instead, their lack of discipline and talent quickly turns military life into a series of misunderstandings, botched drills, and comic disasters.
