A rich young woman Lee Ji-eun meets a young man Ho-Jin, due to a car accident at a gas station. She begins to fall for him, despite her family not liking his social status.

Lee Ji-eun and Ho-Jin's relationship has many ups and downs, because of her family's disapproval of Ho-Jin. Despite their disapproval, Lee Ji-eun secretly meets with her lover.

Lee Ji-eun finds out she is pregnant and leaves her wealth to live with her new husband. She has a miscarraige and moves in with family while recovering. Her relationship with Ho-Jin is wavering on a breakup.

Lee Ji-eun loses her father. Her family is devastated by this and she feels it is her fault. Lee Ji-eun, her sister, and mother get a smaller place living together. Lee Ji-eun still has not reconciled with her lost long love Ho-Jin.

Lee Ji-eun sees her old girlfriend from school after 10 years. Her friend is engaged to her long lost lover, Ho-Jin. Lee Ji-eun is happily married at the moment, but reflects back on her past.

Lee Ji-eun works as a maid for Ho-Jin. Her job as a maid pays well, so she stays working for Ho-Jin. Mi-ran, Lee's old friend, still does not know about her fiancee's past relationship.

Lee Ji-eun starts a relationship with Jung-Min after a hard divorce. Ho-Jin sees them and realizes, even though he is engaged, he has strong feelings still for Lee Ji-eun.

Lee Ji-eun starts an affair with Ho-Jin while he is engaged. Ho-Jin's fiance fidns out about him and Lee Ji-eun's past relationship and marriage to each other.

Phoenix does it again, as it delights its viewers with the struggles faced by those who chose to follow their hearts desires rather than their parents wishes. It is an episode that should not be missed.

Lee Ji-eun ends her current job with Ho-Jin. Lee Ji-eun's friendship with Mi-Ran has been crushed over past mistakes. A lot of drama has started between Mi-Ran and Ho-Jin. Jung-Min's new relationship with Lee Ji-eun is on the rocks because of his suspicions.

Ho-Jin and Jung Min argue over Jung Min finding out about Ho Jin's past marriage to Lee Ji-eun. Ji Eun and Jung Min end their relationship and tension continues to build around the 4 main characters.

Lee Ji-eun and Jung Min stay together despite their difficult times. Ji Eun is torn between Ju-Ming and Ho-Jin. She is figuring out that she has to make herself happy, despite what everyone else wants.

Mi-Ran and Ho-Jin have happier times together. Mi-Ran is able to have partial use of her legs again. Towards the end, Ho-Jin reflects on his feelings for Mi-Ran and Lee Ji-eun.

Jung Min is in the hospital with severe burns. Lee Ji-eun is at his side supporting him. Lee Ji-Eun is still figuring out her feelings for for Jung Min and Ho-Jin. Towards the end of the episode, Ho-Jin looks back on his past with Lee Ji-eun.

Lee Ji-eun and Jung Min go on a double date. Their group date was awkward because Mi-Ran tells Ju-Ming about Ji Eun's past marriage with Ho-Jin. Ho-Jin and Mi-Ran end up breaking off their relationship.

Lee Ji-eun meets with her father's old friend. Her father's friend warns Lee about becoming too close to Ho-Jin, because he will not ever accept her into their family.

Ho-Jin confronts Mi-Ran about their relationship being officially over. Mi-Ran insists on being with him and Lee Ji-eun is working out her relationship with Jung-min. After all the tension with the past episodes, their lives are starting to work themselves out.

Lee Ji-eun and Jung-min meet her family's friend. This old family friend of Lee's tells the 2 of them to get married, so his son Ho-Jin can finally move on from his past. Jung-min and Lee Ji-eun consider a future together for everyone's sake.

Lee Ji-eun confronts Ho-Jin about a job with his father's company. While this meeting is going on, Jung-min drives up and demands to know what is going on. Ho-Jin sticks up for Ji Eun, while Jung-min is being rough and controlling.

After ten years of marriage Lee Ji-Eun still does not love Jang Sae-Hoon, and he does not love her any more. After the death of her father Lee Ji-Eun is heartbroken and lonely for her father. Jang Sae-Hoon feels Ji-Eun is in love with Jung-Min and wishes her to be happy with him.

Sae Hoon is now a wealthy business man, and Ji Eun struggles daily. Even though her family now approves of their relationship because of Sae Hoon's raised status, the two still have to restore the love they once had before Ji Eun broke Sae Hoon's heart with their previous divorce.

Emotions flare, and tempers rise as Mi-ran witnesses a meeting between Ji-eun and Sae-hoon. While Ji-eun passionately requests to know why Sae-hoon would sacrifice so much for her, Mi-ran captures the moment on her phone, and sends it to Jung-min, who watches in despair. Having done enough harm already, Mi-ran doesn’t stop there. Instead, she angrily confronts Sae-hoon, and then violently attacks

Unexpectedly, a voice from the past rears its ugly head, and whispers a horrifying secret about Ji-eun’s father. Devastated, Ji-eun sinks into a chair, and recites the evil words over, and over in her head. Appalled, Sae-hoon shakily walks away, and wonders if the secret could really be true.

At an attempt to relinquish her feelings, Ji-eun starts a fire, and burns the sweet mementos of her life with Sae-hoon. While in despair, Ji-eun suddenly notices a car driving in her direction, and strange men approach her. In the middle of a discussion towards his business, Jung-min calls Sae-hoon with a threat to make a deal that Sae-hoon cannot refuse.
