Wild Racers

New Zealand comprises episodes 9 to 12 of 24 episode. Episode one lands us on the shores of Queenstown. The home of the Lord of the Rings saga's is a fitting place to send our adventurers on a path through one of the most spectacular landscapes.

The first 24 hours of any Adventure Challenge on the World Stage is the most debilitating, the more experienced teams work hard to open a lead that they feel will be hard to close down over the coming days. As they say when its go time … suffer.

Following on from a staggering first day adventure, our teams now widely spread as a result of a blistering pace from the local New Zealand teams, face a formidable challenge.

The list of teams drastically on the decline, this challenging course has brought many to their knees. Those that have risen again have found new found solace in the thought that the finish is in their sights.

Costa Rica comprises episodes 13 to 8 of 16 episodes. Episode one lands us on the shores of Puntarenas, Costa Rica a tropical haven with an equatorial climate to welcome our adventurers.

The first 24hours of any Adventure Challenge on the World Stage is the toughest, though in debilitating humidity and relentless sun, lead teams push hard to open gaps that they feel will be hard to close down over the coming days.

Heading ever forward and following on from a brutal first day and night of racing our teams emerge from the jungle battered and bruised though in the true spirit of adventure push tirelessly onwards into the abyss.

For those that have accepted the punishment at hand and relaxed under the considerable strain there is some respite at hand. Though racing through crocodile infested rivers and technical nigh time challenges is only for the self-initiated.

South Africa comprises episodes 17 to 8 of 20 episodes. Episode one lands us on the shores of Port Alfred on the Eastern Cape a land to rich in history, staggering wilderness and the wildest animals on earth.

Our lead teams now push so hard that they lead by an entire leg, though it remains to be seen if they have pushed to hard to soon.

For some the race has now become extremely tough. Finding ones limits is in itself a journey, so once put up against the challenges of racing under such conditions it is truly a real life drama.

Switzerland comprises episodes 20 to 24 of the Wild Racers series. Episode one finds its way into the exquisite alpine village of Interlaken. This is the first time that our athletes face up to the sheer size of the natural landscape.

Our lead teams have formed a forward charge so open gaps on the chasers. Though what lies ahead will break this lead group apart and create more of an expedition than a race. Never before have conditions been so hard so fast.

Episode one lands us on the shores of Burnie, Tasmania where we meet the teams, explore the host city and reveal the epic course that lies ahead.

We start by exploring the phenomenon of Sleep Monsters and discover there are more psychological challenges than physical challenges at this point. From here we re-join the teams on Lake Macintosh as they continue their journey towards the half way point.

For the teams this race has become an exercise in survival as they complete the marathon breaking trek and face more punishment. Tensions are stretched and the body and mind now reach new levels.

Ecuador comprises episodes 4 to 8 of 24 episode Wild Racers series. Episode one lands us on the shores of Quito, Ecuador. This majestic South American City is better known as the gateway to the Galapagos Islands.

The first 24 hours of any Adventure Challenge on the World Stage is the most brutal, lead teams work hard to open a lead that they feel will be hard to close down over the coming days. As they say when its go time … suffer.

Teams now finally surviving the most brutal first day in Adventure Racing history are welcomed by horizontal rain and some epic stages that will cause some extreme moments and life threatening situations.

From here on in the teams face an ever changing ecosystem as they head down from the dizzying heights and into he more tropical landscape that this regions is renowned for.
