The Expanse

In the asteroid belt near Saturn, James Holden and the crew of the ice-freighter Canterbury, investigate a distress call from an unknown derelict ship, the Scopuli. On Ceres Station, weary Detective Miller begins an off the book investigation to find a missing heiress, Juliette Andromeda Mao, and ship her home to Earth, but Miller’s seemingly simple job takes an unexpected turn.

Holden and crew fight for survival in the badly damaged Knight. On Ceres Station, Julie Mao proves more difficult to track down then Miller had anticipated. In the meantime, tensions between Earth, Mars, and the Belt begin to flare on Ceres. On Earth, UN Deputy Undersecretary Chrisjen Avasarala interrogates a Belter terrorist, suspected of fomenting war between Mars and the Belt.

Holden and crew are taken prisoner aboard the Martian navy flagship, the Donnager, and interrogated. Miller and the other police on Ceres contend with riots. Miller connects Julie to the mysterious derelict ship, the Scopuli, confirming suspicions that Julie’s involved in something much larger than anyone imagined. On Earth, Avasarala engages in a nasty game of politics with an old friend.

Holden and crew are caught in the middle of a desperate battle as mysterious war ships attack and board the Donnager. As Miller pursues the Julie Mao investigation, his partner Havelock continues to go missing.

Holden and crew make a deal with an unlikely ally on Tycho station. Miller’s conspiracy theories and obsession over the missing girl continues to grow.

Miller discovers revealing information on a hidden data cube. Holden and crew arrive at Tycho station, surprised by their host’s hidden agenda.

Holden and crew realize that they’re not alone on the Rocinante and find themselves up against a Martian Marine blockade. Miller’s dark night of the soul, believing all is lost, finds a new reason to keep going. Avasarala visits Holden’s family in Montana.

The crew of the Rocinante discovers a derelict vessel, which holds a secret that may destroy human existence. Holden and crew are lead to Eros, where they finally cross paths with Miller, only to make another horrifying discovery. On earth, Avasarala receives some devastating news.

Miller, Holden and crew try to escape Eros, but are trapped as the entire station is put on lockdown. Meanwhile, on earth, Avasarala comes to a stunning realization about the origin of the mystery ships.

Miller, Holden and crew continue to fight their way to the Rocinante and off of Eros. On earth Avasarala realizes the teacher has become the student and now not only fears for Earth as a nation, but her family’s lives as well.
