A New York doctor arrives in a small rural community to examine a boy with mysterious abilities. She soon discovers that her diagnoses are not welcome here. When the local priest begins to see the child as the embodiment of Satan, a confrontation between science and fanaticism ensues - one that will reveal who is truly possessed.
